Who We Are Looking For

We take on tutors from a range of backgrounds, as long as you know your subject and can explain it clearly to a student who is stuck. Here is where most of our tutors come from.

University Undergraduates (NUS, NTU, SMU, SIT, SUSS, polytechnics)

Ideal for primary and lower secondary tuition, especially English, Maths and Science. Many undergraduates also take on O-Level subjects close to their own major, and some coach PSLE students on weekends around their lecture schedule.

NIE-Trained and Ex-MOE Teachers

In demand for O-Level and A-Level subjects, especially Maths, Chemistry, Physics and Economics, where families want someone who already knows the MOE syllabus and exam format. Well suited to students who need structured, exam-focused coaching.

Graduates and Career Switchers

Suited to subjects tied to a professional background, such as accountancy graduates teaching Principles of Accounts, or engineers teaching Additional Maths and Physics. A common route for working professionals who tutor outside office hours.

A-Level and IB Holders Awaiting University

Best matched to primary and lower secondary students, or as a study partner for secondary students working through the syllabus you recently sat for. A good starting point for a first tutoring assignment.

Tutor Application FAQ

Do I need a degree or a teaching qualification to apply?

No. We accept undergraduates, A-Level and IB holders, diploma holders, graduates, and NIE-trained or ex-MOE teachers. What matters most is that you are confident in the subject and level you want to teach, and that you can explain concepts clearly to a student.

How soon will I hear back after applying?

Our team reviews your profile and will revert within 1 to 3 days if you are selected. How quickly your first assignment follows depends on your subject, level and location, and on how many families are looking in your area at the time.

How much can I earn as a home tutor?

You quote your own rate and we match you with families who accept it. As a guide, primary level tuition usually goes for $30 to $35 an hour, lower secondary $35 to $40, and upper secondary $40 to $45. Experienced tutors and MOE-trained teachers commonly quote $50 to $70 an hour.

Do I set my own rate, or does the agency set it?

You set it. Tell us the hourly rate you want when you submit your profile, and we put you forward to families looking in that range. Quoting well above the typical band for your level and experience means fewer matches, so it is worth being realistic when you start out.

How does the commission work?

Our commission is 3 lessons or 75% of the first month equivalent of fees, whichever is higher. It applies once to each assignment we introduce you to. Everything you earn after that goes directly to you.

Which subjects and levels are most in demand?

Maths, Science and English at PSLE and O-Level see the most requests, along with A-Level Maths, Chemistry and Economics. Requests for IB and Additional Maths tutors come in regularly, so tutors confident in these areas tend to get matched quickly.

Do I choose my own schedule and location?

Yes. You set the days and times you are available, and you tell us which neighbourhoods or areas near an MRT line you are willing to travel to. Assignments are only offered to you if they fit what you have indicated.

Which areas of Singapore have tuition assignments?

Requests come from HDB estates and private housing across the island, not just the central areas. Because families search by neighbourhood, tutors who are open to more areas, or who live near an MRT line, typically see more assignment options.

Is tutoring income taxable in Singapore?

Yes. Income earned from tutoring is taxable and should be declared as part of your annual income to IRAS, whether you tutor for side income or full time. Keep basic records of your assignments and earnings so filing is straightforward.

Ready to start? Submit your tutor profile through Telegram and our team will review it and match you with suitable families. The sooner your profile is in, the sooner you can start picking up home tuition assignments across Singapore.
